Shipping situation Update! Currently, a sufficient variety of international shipping options is available. Depending on the sizes and weights of the packages, we always choose the most cost-efficient method. For smaller orders and single-box shipments, this is usually EMS - Global Express Mail, with the final delivery through the U.S. (or Canadian) Postal Service. Larger orders ship with DHL ExpressWorldwide or FedEx International Economy services. Shipping is reliable, fast (one week max from door-to-door) and economical. As an option, you could choose FedEx Priority, which is amazingly fast (two business days) but also more costly (appr. 20% more than Economy). For larger orders (appr. 100 lbs. or more), FedEx offers so-called spot rates if sufficient cargo capacity is available. We always scan for these spot-rates and apply them when offered; substantial discounts of up to 70% on shipping costs are possible. Correctly determining shipping costs during the online ordering process is not possible since the cost depends not on weight alone but also on the dimensions of the package. Therefore, we estimate a 25% shipping charge, based on product cost, during the online ordering process. Real shipping costs are determined when an order is packed and ready for shipping. Import Tariffs (for U.S. Customers) As of May 2, 2025, the U.S. has eliminated the de minimis exemption for goods originating from China and Hong Kong. Previously, shipments valued under $800 could enter the U.S. duty-free. Now, all such shipments are subject to import duties. For our U.S.-based customers, this means that products manufactured in China may incur additional import tariffs upon arrival. The exact amount depends on the product category and applicable U.S. tariff rates. If any duties are assessed, the carrier (e.g., FedEx, DHL, the U.S. Postal Service) will notify you directly and collect the fees before delivery. We are committed to transparency and will continue to provide detailed shipping information during the ordering process. Please note that these changes are beyond our control, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate this evolving trade landscape. (last updated: May 9, 2025) |
